Chat Data

When visitors interact with your Chatmefy widget:

  • Conversation content and timestamps
  • Visitor information (if provided voluntarily)
  • Browser type, device type, and general location
  • Referral source and pages visited

Usage Data

We automatically collect:

  • Feature usage patterns and analytics
  • Performance metrics and error logs
  • IP addresses (anonymized after 30 days)

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services
  • Power AI conversations specific to your business
  • Send service-related communications
  • Provide customer support
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

Important: AI Training

We do NOT use your conversation data to train AI models without your explicit consent. Your business data remains yours.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on servers operated by Chatmefy:

  • Encryption in transit: All traffic to and from Chatmefy uses HTTPS (TLS)
  • Isolation: A workspace’s conversations, leads and settings are only available to its members
  • Backups: Automated daily backups; the last 14 are kept
  • AI processing: To write a reply, the conversation and relevant parts of your content are sent to Google Gemini on Vertex AI

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

  • Service Providers: Payment processors (Stripe), email services (for transactional emails only)
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

All service providers are bound by strict data processing agreements and are GDPR compliant.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Conversation data is deleted within 30 days
  • Anonymized analytics may be retained for product improvement
  • Backup copies are purged within 90 days
